Tony’s Baked Picnic Ham

This simple and delicious baked ham is excellent for a nice evening or a busy day. The pineapple juice, mustard and brown sugar mixture makes the perfect glaze for this baked ham and is one of Tony’s favorites.

Ingredients

  • 8-Pound Ham

  • 1 Tablespoon Whole Cloves

  • 1 Can Pineapple

  • 1 Tablespoon Yellow Mustard

  • 1/2 Pound Brown Sugar

  • 1 Jar Cherries

  • Clear

Directions

  1. Have butcher de-bone ham and tie.
  2. Boil ham in water to cover for 1 hour.
  3. Remove skin and slice.
  4. Score with diamond-shaped cuts.
  5. Stud with whole cloves.
  6. Place ham in open pan and bake in a 350°F oven for 1 hour.
  7. In a saucepan, make a glaze with a mixture of pineapple juice, mustard and brown sugar.
  8. Cook slowly until thick.
  9. After cooking ham, spoon glaze over ham evenly, then cover with crushed pineapple and decorate with cherries.
  10. Cook for an additional 30 minutes. Slice and serve.
