Slow Cooker Apple Cider BBQ Pulled Pork

Ingredients

  • 2/3 Cup Ketchup

  • 2/3 Cup Apple Cider

  • 1/2 Cup Honey

  • 3 Garlic Cloves, Minced

  • 5 Tablespoons Apple Cider Vinegar

  • 2 Tablespoons Dijon or Spicy Brown Mustard

  • 1 Teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce

  • 1/2 Teaspoon Onion Powder

  • 1/2 Teaspoon Smoked Paprika

  • 1 Boneless Pork Shoulder or Pork Loin (3 Pounds), Trimmed of Excess Fat

  • 2 Tablespoons Brown Sugar

  • 1/4 Cup Tony’s No Salt Seasoning Blend

  • Seeded Hamburger Buns, Optional

  • Clear

Directions

Making the Apple Cider BBQ Sauce:

  1. Whisk all ingredients together in a medium saucepan set to medium heat.
  2. Bring to a boil, then reduce to low heat.
  3. Cook for 30-45 minutes, whisking occasionally, until sauce has thickened.
  4. Remove from heat and pour sauce into a resealable jar or container. Refrigerate until ready to use. Sauce will continue to thicken as it cools.

Making the Pulled Pork:

  1. Place pork in your slow cooker.
  2. Rub brown sugar and Tony’s No Salt Seasoning Blend all over pork.
  3. Cover and cook on high heat for 4 hours. Flip pork over after the first 2 hours.
  4. Remove pork to cutting board and shred using 2 forks.
  5. Return shredded pork to slow cooker and mix with remaining juices and barbecue sauce.
  6. Cover and cook on low heat for 15 minutes, or until warmed.
  7. Add to buns and serve.
