Ginger Bread

A household favorite, ginger bread is a delicious holiday treat. Its great served with a hot cup of coffee.
Prep time: 15 minutes   Cooking time: 30 minutes   Serves: 12  

INGREDIENTS:

2 1/2 cup AllPurpose Flour
3/4 teaspoon Baking Soda
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1 teaspoon Allspice
1 teaspoon Cinnamon
1 teaspoon Cloves (Ground)
1/2 teaspoon Ginger
1 cup Brown Sugar
1/4 cup Margarine
2 Whole Eggs
1 cup Water
1 cup Molasses

DIRECTIONS:

1: In a medium bowl, combine flour, soda, salt, and spices; mix will and set aside.
2: Cream sugar and butter in a large bowl.
3: Beat in eggs one at a time.
4: Bring water to a boil in a small saucepan; remove from heat and stir in molasses.
5: Add to creamed mixture alternately with dry ingredients and mix well.
6: Pour into a greased 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking pan and bake in a 350 degrees oven for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in center out clean.
7: Cool slightly and cut into squares.
8: Serve warm.
