Spiced Pear Skillet Cake

It's one of the coziest Thanksgiving desserts and is super easy to make. Just throw all the ingredients together in an oven-safe skillet and pop it into the oven. This Spiced Pear Skillet Cake by My Diary of Us comes out perfectly, looks gorgeously rustic, packed with flavor and easy to clean up!
Prep time: 10 Minutes   Cooking time: 35 Minutes   Serves: 6-8  


1 Box Tony Chachere's Crispy Creole Hush Puppy Mix
1 Cup Brown Sugar
1 Tbsp. Cinnamon
1/4 Tsp. Ground Ginger
1 Tsp. All Spice
1 Tsp. Vanilla Extract
4 Tbsp. Melted Butter
1 Egg
3/4 Cup Milk
1 Cup Diced Pear + Sliced for Garnish
Powdered Sugar for Dusting


1: Preheat oven to 350°.
2: Mix Tony's Crispy Creole Hush Puppy Mix, brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger and all spice in a large bowl.
3: In another bowl, mix together vanilla, butter, egg and milk. Whisk to combine.
4: Fold wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and then fold in diced pear.
5: Butter a 9" iron skillet.
6: Pour batter into the skillet and then top with more fresh pear slices.
7: Bake for 25-35 minutes until cake is cooked through.
8: Let cool completely and then sprinkle with powdered sugar.
