History of the Tony Chachere's Can

History of the Can Image

The history of the creole seasoning can spans the course of the company's 40-year history. The first design was a plain container with a paper label. As the brand grew, the marketing developed and the first packaging design for Tony Chachere's Original Creole Seasoning hit store shelves in 1980.

The design included the Little Tony caricature -- the same one you'll see on Tony's packaging in stores today. The Tony's green, gold and red colors; ribbons; and dutch oven filled with a creole seasoned roux was added to the design later.
